Veterinary Clinic Horsmans is located in the westernmost part of Germany, the municipality of Selfkant in the small town Isenbruch. The clinic lies directly at the southern Dutch border, between Roermond and Maastricht in the province Limburg. This is the thinnest part of the Netherlands and therefor very well reachable from Belgium, which is only a few kilometres away. One can say that Veterinary Clinic Horsmans is very well internationally located.
There is ample parking on site, also for larger trailers.
The Veterinary Clinic has two specialisms. The first is a clinic for horses, the second a clinic for smaller pet animals.
The horses clinic is the larger one of the two. It has grown so over time. Of every 10 animals entering for treatment, approximately 6 or 7 are horses. This however does not lead to less attention of the domestic animals, on the contrary. All the animals that are brought in receive the medical attention they deserve.
Under the menus HORSES and PET ANIMALS, both specialisms will be further clarified.
HORSES
Veterinarian Drs. Ben Horsmans has surely earned his credits in the international world of equestrian sports. You will find a lot more about him on each of the social media links at the bottom of the webpages.
The horses clinic offers a broad variety of medical care. As you may well know this is quit a package when it comes to horses.
The most important ones are listed here below.
Preventive health care (prophylaxis): a.o. vaccination, chipping, dental-, blood- and manure examination.
Lameness, injuries, respiratory- and skin problems.
Examinations (also for sales and purchases), both clinical and radiographic.
Dental care.
Gynaecology, i.e. pregnancy control and pregnancy guidance.
Foal care.
Radiology, ultrasound and bronchoscopy.
Laboratory: Blood-, bacteriological-, urine- and manure examination
Competition horses guidance, nationally and internationally.
E.I. tasks. (Treating Veterinarian + Official Veterinarian).
We know how important your animal is for you. Together with you, we will take our time for a thorough premedical examination, in order to establish a proper diagnose. Based upon this diagnose we will suggest a treatment. Then, as accurately as we possibly can, we will present you a cost-analyses. After your approval we will begin the treatment as soon we can.
How well extensive our medical care package may be, it remains primary care. In Germany that means that if your horse requires specialist care, like e.g. orthopaedical, cardiologic or dermatologic care, you will have to see a specialist. We will help you referring to the just and well known to us specialists. They are situated in the Netherlands, Germany and in Belgium. That way, of course depending on the status of your animal, you will have a relatively wide range to choose from.
In case the diagnose requires, we can guide your horse in a follow-up care. In consultation with each other there is so much more possible, often way more than you think.

PET ANIMALS
The Veterinary Clinic of pet animals is run by a very experienced, competent veterinarian. Together with the energetic, skilled and friendly veterinary assistants, they form a close and dynamic team.
Upon reservation you and your pet will enter the beautifully renovated porch of the farm. After entering the spacious waiting room, you will be welcomed by the receptionist, who will have a first entry interview prior to your visit with the veterinarian. We always strive to minimize the waiting time, but it is always possible that a treatment takes longer than expected. So please take this in consideration.

Professional and clinical examination to possible causes of the ailment.
Annual consultations: e.g. Check-up’s, deworming cure, advices, vaccinations, etcetera.
Radiology and ultrasound.
Comprehensive dental care.
`Smaller ‘surgical operations: e.g. Sterilisations and castrations, removal of nasty lumps, removal of benign growths, etcetera.
Laboratory for: e.g. Blood-, bacteriologic-, urine- and faeces examination.
Regarding these last ´smaller´ surgical operations, one needs to be aware of the following. How ever extensive our medical package is, it remains a so-called primary care. In Germany this implies that if your pet requires specialistic medical care, for example orthopaedic, dermatologic or surgical treatment, you will have to see a specialist. We will help you referring to the just and well known to us specialists.
